We believe there are no shortcuts to academic success. Outstanding educators, more time in school, a rigorous college- preparatory curriculum, and a strong culture of achievement help our students make the significant academic gains necessary to prepare them for high school and college.

KIPP Freedom Academy is a college-preparatory public school for grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. At Freedom Academy Charter School, we strive to cultivate the knowledge, skills, and character of the children of Camden City, guaranteeing them the freedom to perform in competitive high schools and colleges, and help our students become positive, powerful, and productive citizens.

At KIPP, we believe that there are no shortcuts to academic success. Outstanding educators, more time in school, a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, and a strong culture of achievement help our students make the significant academic gains necessary to prepare them for high school and college.

Our core values of honor, excellence, adaptability, respect, and teamwork serve as the foundation upon which our school is built. We ardently believe in the sayings common at our fellow KIPP schools throughout the nation including, “All children can learn,” “Team always beats individual,” and “Work hard, be nice.”

Students take pride in their school, respecting the dedicated teachers and staff who commit their lives to education. They hold themselves to high standards of achievement and academic excellence, and they will be grateful for the privilege of receiving an education as they strive to accomplish their own ambitious academic goals.

Parents have the right to participate, and are encouraged and expected to get involved in their school, including its governance. They support the teachers and the administration of the school, and follow through at home to make certain their children live up to their academic commitments and obligations. Our school respects the diverse cultures and faiths of parents and students as we are a place of tolerance and understanding.

The faculty and staff of our school are competent and caring professionals who work as teams to teach, coach, and motivate students to learn. They continuously strive to increase their skills, be proficient in the latest educational technology, and act as outstanding role models for students. The faculty and staff are mentors and advisors to students and parents. They are aware of the personal educational needs of each of their students, and they bear these responsibilities and live up to the high expectations of their profession, while taking an active role in their school and the Camden community.

The future of our country and our way of life depends on the education of our children. At Freedom Academy Charter School, we strive to continually rise to this challenge. We hope that by building a school based on high academic and character expectations, we can help generations of Camden's children graduate with the knowledge, skills and intellectual habits necessary to succeed in high school, college, and the competitive world beyond.
